Netzwerk Landtechnik EN - EU Network

HomepageBDL NetworkEU NetworkCompany profiles

There are good reasons for the European Metalworkers Federation EMF to coordinate the European Employee Network Agricultural Machinery:

At its congress in Lisbon in July 2007 the EMF decided to establish a Sector Committee on mechanical engineering and to develop a sub-committee structure including the agricultural machinery sector (along with other sectors like lifts/elevators, machine tools, textile machinery etc.).

In this context, our networking project is considered to have a model-like character.

The European Employee Networking Agricultural Machinery:

Continuing, deepening and enlargement of network building and improving information, consultation and employee participation at the enterprise and sector level
After the successful implementation of the first project phase it was clear that the process initiated should be continued. One participant at the final conference of the project in Frankfurt in 2008 remarked: "We have put a foot on the doorstep of Europe – now its necessary to open the door”.

Future Forum Agricultural Machinery 2020 - International Conference of the European Employee Network in Brussels, June 2010

As the main coordinator of the network, the European Metalworkers Federation (EMF) has prepared an application for a follow-up project and received a positive reply from the European Commission in June 2009.

Compared to the first phase of the project, the network has grown significantly. In addition to the original partners – works councils and company trade union committees – from Austria, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland and Spain, the 2nd project phase will include national members from Belgium, Finland, France and Italy – a total of around 20 single partners from 10 EU countries .

The follow-up project started in September 2009 and will run until the end of 2010.

Main project activities:

  • Intensification and extension of the exchange of experience and networking of companies and trade unions in the agricultural machinery sector
