Company Representatives

Most of the major companies in the agricultural engineering sector in Germany are cooperating in the works council network. The following companies are directly represented in the steering group of the EU project.

Since 1936, CLAAS has manufactured over 400,000 combines in its main factory located in Harsewinkel.

Heiner Strothjohann is chairman of the works council in Harsewinkel and member of the group works council.


CNH Germany is the distributor of three agricultural equipment brands (Case IH, New Holland; Steyr) of the Fiat Group. The distribution-centre for the German market, department for product marketing and costumer service are located in Heilbronn.

Johannes Müllerschön is chairman of the works council.


Fendt is a trademark of the AGCO Corporation. There are three sites in Germany: There are three sites in Germany: The first one is located in Marktoberdorf and serves as the centre of the tractor division. The second, the site in Bäumenheim, manufactures cabs and chassis parts. The third, the Fendt-Fördertechnik Company is located in Kempten and the general importer of Nissan forklifts in Germany.

Lemken is a manufacturer for agricultural technology with a specialisation on soil cultivation and seed drilling machinery. There are three sites in Germany: The headquarter in Alpen is the production base for soil cultivation and seed drilling machinery and is secondly in charge of servicing and distribution. There are two other Lemken sites in Hetzerath and Meppen.

Norbert Schulze ist full-time chairman of the works council.


Krone is divided into three societies: The machinery factory Bernard Krone is based in Spelle and produces agricultural machinery. There is a commercial vehicle site in Werlte which focuses on the production of semi trailers, swap systems, trailers, and rigid bodywork. In addition to this, Krone manufactures around 2,500 refrigerated semi trailers per year in Denmark (home of Bernard Krone A/S).

Ludger Budde is the contact person for the network agricultural machinery.


The company Wilhelm Stoll is a leading manufacturer of agricultural machines based in Lengede (Germany), in the area between Peine, Hildesheim and Salzgitter. Since November 1999 the shares of the company are in the possession of the family-owned Freudendahl Invest A/S company from Sonderborg/Denmark.
